No Body Like Mine (Part 1)

It all started with "sensitive nose"; that was what Sophie's Dr Lillian called it. We noticed that Sophie's nostrils are extremely narrow and filled with dirt sometimes. Occasionally, she would also sound a little "stuffy" when she was in the car. That was the first warning sign, apparently.

I had to clock in another 60 hours of counselling at NCPS before June in order to fulfil my master course requirement. Thus, we made the painful decision of placing Sophie in Pat's Schoolhouse on 24 March. It was a move that we very much regretted although it was quite inevitable. By the end of the week, Sophie's nose was congested and perpetually "stuck". Maybe her nose was just sensitive, we kept telling ourselves. Unfortunately, we were quite wrong.

In early April, Sophie started to have loose, muddy stools. At first, we brushed it aside, thinking that it was normal to have that once in a while. However, we began to worry when her stools became green and watery. After several trips to the pediatricians (Dr Koh and Dr Vella), we speculated that whatever in her nose must have gone down to her stomach giving her some viral infectiona and diarrhea. Nothing could be done except gut resting (diluting her milk) and Pedialyte (for hydration). And it went on like that for the next 3 weeks...Sophie lost a lot of weight but she finally recovered and resumed her usual milk intake.

First Time @ the Botanic Gardens

"My Little Koala..."

'Tis weekend again... and we planned to go to Paragon for a "jalan-jalan". I heard that they have quite a few shops with interesting baby stuff... once we reached there, Sophie wanted to be fed so we did just that at a quiet spot. Then papa put her in her carrier. We had been waiting for her "face front" moment...finally she could see where she was going... With whatever little time left, I quickly browse through some books that might be suitable for Sophie.

Soon, we packed up and headed for the Botanic Gardens... hoping that we could take a leisure walk with Sophie... Well, we spent half the time in the food court due to a slight drizzle... then our little one fell asleep so she missed out all the scenery and my arms and legs ached like hell from the walking and "weight-lifting".
