Perth - Day 3

Waking up at the farm was really refreshing and nice. Early in the morning, the kids washed up, changed out of their PJs and Ck would take them outside while I prepare breakfast. There was no dilly dallies or electronics related procrastination. I could catch a glimpse or two of the kids and Ck through the glass doors and windows while I put together a humble but healthy meal to kick start our day.

Who needs playground and indoor gym when you have such things around? The kids would climb over and under the fence whenever they were near. They never seemed hyperactive or disruptive because they had so much space to run around. By now, they were experts in fence climbing and hanging around.

After our breakfast, we took a walk down to the river. It was quite a long walk and the sun was a little glaring. The kids were tired before we even reached the river, but the animals were great distractions.

The river was nothing spectacular but it was peaceful and relaxing to be there... minus the tired and cranky kids. I should have brought sitting mat and some food for them, but we didn't think it was that far or tiring. It took a long time for us to walk back to the farm.

We drove off in search of a nice beach today. No itinerary, just GPS and instinct. We randomly picked a direction and started out in our car. We stopped at some restaurant (couldn't even remember the name) and stayed for a while because we were in between mealtimes. We had about 30 minutes before they served lunch. Meanwhile, CK took the kids out one at a time to look at the ocean.

We didn't bring any beach gear so we just played with the waves as they came washing up the shore. The kids were thrilled nevertheless, especially Alfee. It helped that we were the only ones at the beach, probably because nobody was allowed to swim there.

When everyone was tired and hungry, we retreated to a little picnic area away from the beach and devoured fruit. Of course we changed first. Again we were quite isolated and personally, I love it. I never like crowds and I always feel more relaxed when there is no people around.

With their energy replenished, the kids were once again running around in the grass patch. It's so liberating! I never felt any need to stop them and I didn't worry about safety at all.

Times flew quickly when we were enjoying ourselves. Soon, it was time for dinner and back to the farm. Nothing beats the nature and space, I finally realised. The moment we were back to a slightly more populated area, I felt the need to watch the kids more closely and make sure they didn't get in trouble. Even so, Perth isn't densely populated and we were very comfortable with what we encounter so far.
