Day 4, we were tired, frankly, we started missing home. Nevertheless, We decided to head for Darling Harbour after breakfast (which was getting later every day). It was a cold day so we worried about the kids a lot as we walked. Thus, we took shelter from the harsh winds at the Sydney Convention Centre. We had some food and warm drinks before taking the monorail to The Aquarium & Wildlife World. We knew we had already spent the morning doing nothing much, but we really wanted to take it easy today.
The monorail was very convenient and child-friendly. It was enjoyable especially since it was not crowded. Eventually,
By the time we started exploring The Aquarium, Sophie was tired. Fortunately, the gigantic Lego displays kept her engaged. We came across a shallow display pool and I stopped to examined the "marine life" inside. As it turned out, the "marine life" was actually not very alive. They were many empty shark eggs on display. We could haveeasily missed it but I found the scene very familiar so I stopped. Then I remembered! It was a scene from Hi-5! I quickly alerted Papa and Sophie to take a closer look at the interesting spiral-shaped shark eggs.
I could help but to compare our Underwater World to this place. I must admit, our aquarium seems better, bigger and more well-maintained. After a quick lunch, we left and headed for Sydney Tower before the sun set. I know I am starting to sound cynical, but honestly, I have seen too many towers and this view was not fantastic. However, it was awesome for Sophie. She has never quite seen the world from up there.
Sophie made a friend (a staff) who found her very smart and articulate. She was not shy or reserved in front from strangers. I mean, of course, she would be wary for 30 seconds... but in general, she is very comfortable talking to everyone. She even started drawing for her new friend. I was happy to see that she could draw a rough representation of the tower and the bridge. I could not find any more photos for the rest of our day. I guess we ran out of excitement and could not find good subjects to take anymore... not today anyway.
In the evening, we did our usual goofing around on the bed. Although I do not really like Sophie and Alfee to clown around, I did find them really adorable sometimes. I guess I am not a very fun loving mum...
Here are some pictures from Sophie's camera...
