Mid Autumn Festival Night @ Cherrybrook Kindergarten

I am never keen to take the kids out at night, but I have grown to appreciate the annual Mid Autumn Festival Night held at Cherrybrook. This year, it was celebrated a day later than the actual 15th day of the eighth lunar month. I like the way the school makes it meaningful with simple activities and both parents and kids get to have some fun with others. Of course, it is also great to share our festival with families from other countries.

Just a year ago, Sophie needed help from the teachers when she made the moon cakes. This year, she was self sufficient and she could even finished up the end product!

This is Alfee's first attempt to make moon cakes. I admit, I wasn't at all keen to eat his creation. Sorry, I knew where those little hands had been before that!

The sky was soon dark and Alfee surprised us with a little sing-along and dance with the rest of the kids. Papa was so tickled by his very polished dance moves. I think he has got my genes!

Papa is right that we really have to appreciate Sophie for who she is. She's not great in her motor skills and anything that requires rhythm but she is quite an academic and she has her own merits.
