I took Sophie to see Dr Pauline Cheong at the Ophthalmic Consultants today. We had a review on her lazy eye condition. Although there was some improvement, her right eye still performed poorer compared to her left. We discussed about it and decided to let her continue with the eye patch, 2 hours each day for 2 months and 1 hour for the subsequent 2 months. That means her next review will be in April. We also discussed about her current prescription. Apparently, the main reason for not correcting her long sightedness, is that she's still young and Dr Cheong hopes that her eyes would work harder and improve accordingly. Her astigmatism, however, is not something we can influence.
Actually, I am considering getting her another pair of glasses. The lens of her present pair are scratchy and the coating of the frame has come off as well. I saw a light pink frame the other day when I was making my own glasses and thought she would definitely love them. She has her faults but she does take care of her glasses pretty well. We had to replace the nose rest a few times but that was because Alfee tugged her glasses and broke it. She has been wearing the same pair since the beginning. Perhaps it's time to change?
We left the place around 9.30am and I thought we could walk to the the Botanical Gardens Mrt Station to catch a train to Plaza Singapura. After melting off our breakfast, we found out that the station is really on the other side, far from the entrance we were at. So, we walked back to Gleneagles to take a bus there instead. To me horror, Plaza Singapura no longer 'exists'!!! I had no idea where we were even though I was pretty sure we walked into the building. All the shops look bright and new, very similar to Ion or Somerset 313. It took a couple of rounds before we saw something familiar - the old wing of PS. That is the PS I am more comfortable with. It was already 10.30 am.
We ate a little brunch and met Papa for his lunch before heading back. I took the opportunity to buy some travel essentials for our trip. I like PS and I wish I could shop longer but with Sophie nagging about missing Alfee and home, I decided some things were never meant to be. We took a cab this time. Sophie slept on the way back and I carried her (plus the shopping) up. It was a struggle.
