"C" Based Activity - Crocodile
Sophie was very excited about making a crocodile. I could not say the same for myself though. I did not expect it to be so tedious, but I could not change my mind because she was so enthusiastic.
In fact, she was really engaged in painting the WHOLE crocodile green. I seldom see that level of concentration in her. Still, I wish I could just take over because she was so slow.
The mouth was tricky to make. I cut out triangles from a silver corrugated paper and stuck them one by one in the mouth. The legs were made of paper tubes and the feet were made of foam sheet.
When it was done, it felt flimsy so I had to reinforced the joints with paper marche (white glue and tissue paper) and stuff the inside with newspaper. To finish it off, I pasted all the bits of paper we had left on its back. In the end, Sophie argued that it was an alligator and not a crocodile! So much for “C” based activity and half a day’s work.
