When I first did "S" with Sophie this year, I promised I would do Science experiments with her when she could understand better. We watched this particular experiment in Hi-5 once and she was very intrigued by the idea of "float" and "sink" ever since.
We used whatever we could find at home and I tried to make it more colourful and interesting for her. I think to her, the presentaiton has to be professional and visually appealing to be engaging (so pampered). But once her interest was hooked, she could remember everything well.
