Nowadays, Sophie loves to say “I wanna do… myself” and “I wanna… try”. Sometimes, it was great to see the progress from an uncoordinated and awkward baby to a self reliant child with relatively good motor skills. Occasionally I also feel proud that she always try to exercise her own opinion and ideas.
At other times, I wish she would slow down a little, listen attentively and follow my instructions closely. It is very hard for her to learn because she gets distracted easily and she often gets really obsessed with her own thoughts, emotions and desires.
Having said that, I know Sophie is just being herself – a young child. Of course it would be easier for ME to have an intelligent, obedient little girl who is also eager to learn. It is a humbling experience for me as I learn how to educate and bring up such a spirited girl.
This "hand" flower is slightly different from the lilies we did many in April 2009. I remembered she was barely 14 months old then. How she has improved leaps and bounds.
