Balloon

Sophie loves balls and anything round. Recently, she uttered "balloon" which is her first official two-syllable word. Ever since, she has been craving for balloons, especially the ones filled with helium. Today, we saw almost everyone holding green and red balloons at Kinokuniya (Takashimaya), so Sophie went crazy and kept whining for balloons. Papa had no choice but to ask one of the parents where those balloons came from and hunted for some for Sophie.

You cannot imagine how elated she was when she finally got the balloons. She was even holding on to the strings as she slept in the car. And the first thing she said when she woke up - "balloon". I could not understand her obsession but Papa said it was normal and there would be more and more things that she would like and become obsessive about. How strange... I should start getting used to that, apparently. If only she showed half as much the interest in the books I bought for her today as her beloved balloons...
