Say What... ?!

Ever since her initial attempts to utter "cat", "dog" and "bear", Sophie has been very reluctant to speak or "repeat" after us (she seems to prefer her own language). Only "cat" survived especially when she sees one. Today, she surprised us in the car...

Sophie (whining) : Ern.... Ern.....
Mama (rolling her eyeballs) : What do you want, Girl?
Sophie (pointing at her shoes and reaching out) : Ern... Ern....
Mama (taunting) : What do you want? Oh, you want your shoes... say "shoe" and I will give it to you... say "SHOE"... say "SHOE" ... say "SHOE" lah...
Sophie (threw me a dirty look): TROO... TROO (or I will scream!)

Her utterances in English
  1. mama

  4. dog
  5. bear
  6. book
  7. ball
