EQ

Sophie is really a gem when it comes to how much joy she brings to those around her. Although she always drove me nuts when I tried to teach her numbers, shapes and colours, she never failed to make me laugh and forgive her. Today, she kept saying "two" when I point to the numeral "1", no matter how many times or in how many ways I coached her. I got really mad, grunted and turned away from her in hope to cool off a bit. To my surprise, she came to my side with a sad look on her face and gave me a pat or two before saying, "soy... soy...". I knew she was trying to comfort me but it took her a few more "soy"s and a hug before I realised she was actually saying "sorry" to me.

So now Sophie says "thanks" to cashiers and waiters and "sorry" when she makes me upset. And even sweeter, she says "night.. night... (name of plush toy)" and pats them (those on the bed) one by one, then she pats herself on the chest and says "night... Phee" and does the same for me. I am so happy that she has learnt some positive habits from us... She makes everyone smile whenever she does all those things. For now, I shall forget how frustrating it is when she refuses to pay attention and learn those concepts...
