Letter Of The Week - "G" For Giraffe

Sophie likes giraffes so we ended up making a “giraffe” for the letter “G” naturally. However, it took me some time to figure out how to fit the animal in the letter without compromising its shape.

Sophie surprised me with "long neck" today although I think she was probably repeating what I had said. It does not matter. She used to ignore me when I tried to get her to repeat what I had said. Now, she tried to sing Beatles Songs (thanks to Papa!) and occasionally, she would string words together (from memory of what we have said to her) like "Wait... Mama, where (are) you going?" or more frequently, "Come... sit... here!".

More importantly, I am glad she is starting to follow instructions. Previously, she could not even understand what we wanted her to do. Nowadays, she tried to comply (if it is not too much of a bother to her!).

I added some glitter glue (pearl) on the "giraffe" and drew in the fur (is that what it is called?) on its neck. I liked the prints made by the cookie cutter. Anyway, it turned out quite good once I pasted them onto a piece of construction paper... So glad I did not make a gorilla.

End Product - "G" For Giraffe
