Painting on Easel Board

I have never let Sophie paint at the easel board before although she often used the white board for drawing. I was afraid of the mess (imagine her running everywhere with a paint brush in her hand!) and I thought she was too short to maximise the use of the easel space. Now, she is definitely tall enough… I guess it is time to let her have some freedom.

She looked at me for approval before she started dot painting and I thought she was so sweet. However, she did exactly what I was afraid of – walking away to do something else. I did all I could to coax her back for a couple more strokes and dots… And she painted on the easel itself.

I think Sophie likes to be unrestricted (who does not?) and painting on the easel allows her to see her work better (upright). Her area for painting is also bigger and she has more room to move her arms.

Papa loves her work. He thinks it means something to her and if she could talk, she would tell us what exactly she has created. So supportive!
