For snacks today, the kids had cereal with marshmallows inside. I'm like the witch in Hansel and Gretel, trying to fatten them up... only I don't want to eat them, I just want them to be fatter for the winter trip we're taking in December. So far, they look a little rosier and feel a bit more cushiony from my week plus of compulsory snacking and napping routine. Hopefully, their PD won't say they are too thin anymore when we next visit her.
Meanwhile, Alfee's into his second week of toilet training and self feeding. We are targeting Term 2 for his nursery enrolment, so we really hope he will be ready by then. I'm also adjusting his naptime so that he won't fall asleep or get too cranky towards lunch time in school.
I'm never too worried for Sophie in terms of her academic work, but I know she's super reluctant to do formal seat work. And quite frankly, I don't blame her. She's a free spirit sort of girl so it's really torturous for her to be organised or structured. Even though she enjoys keeping herself busy... her way, her choice... Yet, it doesn't hurt to put some order in her life and routine, every now and then. It helps that she has someone who's constantly there with her... Alfee.
