Snip

We were doing some work together, Alfee, Sophie and I. Sophie was demanding my attention while Alfee was groping for the scissors to do some cutting. I tried to stop Alfee and take the scissors from his hand, but I was distracted by what Sophie was saying and turned to look at her. At that fateful moment, Alfee snipped. A piece of my flesh got cut off and I nearly reacted with some profanities. Clearly both kids were shocked and Sophie started to cry as blood oozed out of my wound. Alfee, who wasn't quite sure what happened, knew instinctively somehow that he had done something bad. Although the cut wasn't deep or big, there was no skin to cover the wound and stop the bleeding. To make matters a wee bit worse, I had to search for first aid with one hand while making sure the other didn't drip blood to stain anything. By then the kids were pretty upset but I couldn't attend to them just yet. I had no proper bandages so I had to use a piece tissue paper to wrap over the plaster and a sticky tape to secure it. After a day, the bleeding officially stopped. It was really a blessing that Alfee cut me instead of himself... don't even wanna go there!
