Readers Mania "Bb"

I just realise that if I post a blog about these readers this way, I have to take 26 x 7 photographs for each of the 26 letter weeks. Hmm... Anyway, Sophie enjoys the "B" book of Alphatales because she can find many things that she likes in there. For example, "bear bear", "bunny" and "bubbles". In fact, she likes bubbles so much that I have to make bubbles for her during bathtime every day.

The "B" book from Now I'm Reading : All about the ABCs is also about bears, bubbles and balls (another one of Sophie's favourite readers).

I let Sophie play with soapy bubbles at the playground this evening as a follow-up activity. It has been a while since I last took her to the playground due to the unpredictable weather. Well, she was delighted.

She even surprised me by climbing onto the ride all by herself... Too bad by the time I whipped out my camera, the moment was over and she was sitting happily on the ride. And yes, I sent her to the hairdresser's just before that so her hair is now nice and short... although I do miss her lovely locks.

The "b" book from Sunshine Phonics pretty much covers the rest of the words that begins with the letter "b". Another good book for Sophie as she gets to see her favourite words and pictures, including "banana" and "butterfly". Generally, Sophie learns words that start with "B" a lot earlier than other words. Maybe they are easy to articulate...

Last but not least, the song about "B" and its sound. I like this CD because they introduces the sounds of ALL the 26 letters and not just vowels or consonants. The more complicated sounds (consonant blends and word families) are compiled in another CD. Also, all the songs are slow and easy to remember since they have the same tune and format.
