Sophie likes the drawings and it gives me plenty of room to play around with facial expressions, animal sounds and other sound effects. Before I read it to her, she did not even want to turn the pages. After Mama's performance, she seems to like it much better. She would pick it up and ask me to read. To round it up, I made her an elephant finger puppet that I bought from Art Friend. So now she has two finger puppets - the lion and the elephant.

When The Elephant Walks
When The Elephant Walks by Keiko Kasza is a funny story of an elephant which starts a chain-reaction because when he walks, he scares a bear which in turn runs away and frightens another animal and so on. The last animal is the mouse and despite its size, it frightens the elephant. I have gathered two subtle lessons from the story. Firstly, even the seemingly mighty one among us has a fear or two sometimes. Secondly, most of our fears are probably unfounded and irrational in nature.
