Monday At Home

When we got up this morning, it was pouring. Then we heard Alfee coughing like an old engine before Sophie also complained of stomachache. So, we decided to declare an early holiday for the kids. With the kids home and nothing planned, I was a little uncomfortable. Despite all, I really don't want to let DVDs be their nanny too often.

I thought Halloween is near and I did some similar themed art with Sophie long time ago, so I let them do that. I fumbled a little with the cutting because I had forgotten how to cut the pumpkin shape. After a couple of embarrassing attempts, I finally got it right.

After that messy session, the kids retreated into their own little play world while poor me did the cleaning up. I actually thought of getting them to help but I wanted to take a break from them as well. I think taking little time off from one another can help in regulating our feelings towards one another, tremendously.

I bought this set of hair accessories for the little missy so we tried it out today. Alfee also got a chance to play with his Jie Jie's hair. And he liked it. Personally, I think it's cheap for a reason.

Lunch was simple and good. I told my helper to cook tri-coloured quinoa and rice with ham and mixed vegetables. The kids finished their portion relatively quickly.

The rest of the day, the kids did some seatwork before playing with Ah Gong. I left them with him and met Papa at SGH for his medical examination. It took us almost 5 hours to get everything down. By the time we reached home, it was dinnertime and the kids were already in their PJs.
