... Haven't had a chance to talk to you in school but have been wanting to tell you how sweet alfie has been to John. You know how alfie likes to play with John in the school yard, by pushing the car that John is riding in? John got scared the second time alfie played like that with him, I think probably the speed he was going and started crying. That was probably in july/August or so. Ever since then, I noticed alfie always asks John before he plays with John. A few times already. The most recent being this week when John, kayley and alfie were all spinning around holding hands (kayley initiated it). After kayley left for the school bus alfie came to John and asked if he can play again. I thought it was really really sweet that alfie remembered that John cried before and bothered to ask first. I told alfie so and thanked him for thinking about John. Really impressed that at his age, alfie can have this level of consideration for others and empathy for his friends. I hope that one day John will be as sociable as alfie and at the same time, as thoughtful towards his friends like alfie is to him...
I received this text in middle of the night and I was close to tears. I have never expected Alfee to be so well behaved in school. And this mum was so nice to let me know as well. My kids are always very intense and sometimes I worry that they may scare others off. Apparently, they are doing well. I often get positive feedback about Sophie's friendliness and nurturing nature towards others as well. I'm so proud of Sophie and Alfee.
