Readers Mania "Oo"

The "O" book of Alphatales introduces many common words that begin with the letter, including some not so usual words like "o'clock" and "ouch". Overall, it is a cute story although not very captivating for Sophie.

There is little surprise in the "O" book of Sunshine Phonics. Other than words like "owl", "octopus" and "ostrich", it also introduces food like "orange" and "onion". I got my idea for the
"Letter of the Week" from here.
In Now I'm Reading!: All About the ABCs by Nora Gaydos, "O" is also for "octopus" but it includes "olives" and "overalls". It is kind of hard to explain "overalls" and olives (Sophie can only recognise the cut olives in pizzas) so I left it as such.

"O" for "Oscar" the "otter"; I am glad that the "o" words in the lyrics are not too common. But again, otters are not easily recognisable animals so it is a little difficult to teach Sophie that.
