Sophie knew exactly where to get her Playdoh box, what to take out of the box and how to set up the “environment” for her Playdoh Time. Although she was eager to start her activity, she was able to wait patiently for me to take the Playdoh out of the container. I believe she knows and understands the procedure so she did not fuss at all even when I took a while longer than before. Lately, I have also started training her self-control and discipline. Notice how she put away the blocks in her hand? I hope to instill some sense of responsibility in her… actually, I need her help to keep the place neat and tidy.
Anyway, it was great that Sophie finally figured out how to use one of the tools. This was the first time she did not take it apart and I did not have to fix it back for her. She often gets offended and upset when we try to show her how things work. She prefers to figure it out on her own. I admire that in her although sometimes I wish I could just give her direct coaching. Knowing that she was doing well with her Playdoh, I went ahead with making her "P" and "p" with jumping clay. I still had to keep a watchful eye on her... just in case she decided to eat her Playdoh again.
By the way, we can finally spell "SOPHIE" because she has learnt all the letters in her name. She knows that is her name but she still cannot say it... Sigh...
