Stick Insect

I took Sophie for a walk around our neighbourhood yesterday evening in hope to find a decent playground where she could run around safely. It was a tough walk I must say especially when the temperature was perpetually around 32 degrees. By the time we reached a playground, we were soaking wet and tired. Though not a fantastic playground, Sophie still managed to run around happily without her mama too close behind her (more like I could not catch up with her!).

Unfortunately, she was also too tired to walk on the way back so it was my turn to exercise. Okay, I know I needed some exercise lately... but walking with a 12 kg toddler in my arms was seriously tough. It took us half an hour to reach home... Anyway, I picked up a stick along the way and made Sophie a stick insect this morning. I wanted it to be super simple because our schedule was quite full today and I did not want to do any cleaning up. So all I used were a couple of pipe cleaners, the stick I picked up, scotch tape, a nylon bristle and some hot glue.

  1. U can try using 3 playdough balls then stick 3 pairs of 'legs' to the middle of the body then make feelers and poke the eyes. I always use it with the p3 when i intro the topic on insects.

  2. I read that you took Sophie out of school..I thought you are leaving her once per week, but seems like you left her for 3-4 days? Maybe you want to try 1 day first if you are thinking of getting her to socialize. I started off with once a week and gradually increase the number of days (due to no choice lah cos need to study also) I was quite apprehensive to leave him at daycare, but I see a huge progess though..But again, if the teachers are taking care of 15-20 children then that is too many liao ....oh..I also read that they use adult spoon to feed her ....actually hor, if he is not sefl-feeding...I also use the adult tablespoon to feed him ....heee....faster than using the toddler spoon as I am quite impatience ....haaa.....oh...I love Sophie's yellow art ...so nice :) ....ya...if I am in Singapore, E and S will be great playmates/dates ...haaa...Maybe their personality can rub off very well ...heee....it will be interesting to see they do art work together ....haaa....when I go back, maybe we can gather with other bloggers' kids to do art ...that will be really fun!!!
