Our second date night after 5 years of habitation. We took pictures like some nervous teenagers out on a movie without our parents' permission. We were still awkward and we had to deliberately slow down and remind ourselves that we were on a date. But all was good. The guilt is starting to ease off a little. We picked a horror movie "Mama". I thought it wasn't the best choice as it reminds me of the kids. Yet, we didn't really have many choices since we could only watch the 7 plus show.
It was not really scary but the idea was haunting. We didn't like the ending and we thought the Lily ought to choose life over death... But, the actually fact was that she chose her 'Mama' over a strange world. It probably didn't matter how she looked or even what she was, she's still the only 'Mama' she ever knew. Based on the movie, I couldn't really understand why Victoria chose to stay with her uncle and his girlfriend. They were disengaged as guardians and there was no hint of any bond developing between them and her. Perhaps it's bad acting.. or directing. Overall, it's not too scary because there are signs of Shutters, The Ring and Ju-On here and there. The plot is predictable with loopholes everywhere although the ending was unthinkable.
