First Day Of School

School started last Wednesday but both kids were kept home to recuperate form their nasty stomach flu. We waited till today to send them there for the first time in 2013. Sophie was delighted to be greeted by familiar faces. She was all cheery and eager to join her friends. I always worry if she has friends but sometimes I guess it's alright so long as she's happily engaged.

Alfee was not as adaptable, it seemed. He was reluctant to put some discipline back in his life. He has been given a lot of freedom and he enjoys it a little too much. He refused to do work and if he did, he couldn't finish or keep them after use. I was so exhausted after the session... Hopefully, he would be better in the next few weeks. After all, the teachers are all saying he's ready to cross over to Nursery now. All he needs is to stabilise his toileting and he's as good as enrolled. Perhaps, I'm the one not ready. I couldn't help but to fear that he would fall like Sophie did in Nursery on her third day. To me, he's just a baby...

Back home, Sophie had a little nap before her piano lesson. Her teacher is very patient and kind to her despite her grouchy and lethargic desposition. The kids had dinner right after the teacher left. I took the opportunity to ask the kids what they would like for breakfast so that Rose could prepare tomorrow morning. Then I realised it was time for Sophie to set goals for herself with my help. I think they are easily achievable and hopefully she would persevere.
