ECP & Suntec City

Sophie's coughing so I made a last minute decision against swimming today. I hope that she would outgrow this allergic cough thing even though I think it's probably not likely. Anyway, we thought it might be alright if we go to the park or something instead. After all, some fresh air is never bad...

I'm a Safari kind of guy...
So, we ended up at East Coast Park. No, we were not so into the beach, sand and water... We just wanted to stroll about and maybe a change in scenery. We were quite fascinated by the people water skiing at the 'pond' (whatever). We were almost cheering for those who dared to try the ramps (stunts).

Mummy... when can I try that?
NEVER...?

It was like a revelation what a little snack (buns or biscuits) could do to my kids. One moment they were cranky and whiny, then the next moment, they were all cheery and active again. So now I know what to do when we go out like this... FOOD!

Usually, Papa would avoid hawker centre because he finds it stressful to manage the kids in such a challenging environment. And I would avoid coconuts. But today, we didn't want to be bothered. So, we just let the kids drink coconut juice... just like that! It's a nice feeling (sticky though when Alfee knocked over the coconut)!

In the afternoon, we went to look for winter wear for the kids for our upcoming Taiwan trip. We parked at City Hall and walked to Suntec City. Along the way, Sophie needed her snack break again. We had some ice-cream. Sophie shared her tiny scoop of ice-cream quite generously with Alfee. We were proud of her. Simple acts of kindness but I think she's doing well as a big sister.

Sophie loves shoes (Cinderella's influence) but we don't like to get her fancy shoes. We are Clarks fan so we bought her a black pair of shoes for her year end concert. They look great and they can be worn for all occasions as well. To be honest, we didn't intend to buy her shoes. But the two elderly store assistants (possibly bosses) were giving us such great service that we even bought Alfee a pair of Clarks.

We faced a little difficulty with getting Alfee winter wear. He's too small for most of the jackets. For Sophie, it's a matter of colour. For Alfee, it's really the right size. We found him so adorable in jackets that we didn't even care what the colour was.

We had dinner at Crystal Jade Kitchen and we were not at all impressed. The food was as good as it looked. The kids were not enthusiastic about eating at all and frankly, neither was I. Fortunately, I was well trained by my cook at home so I ate my share without much fuss.

Sophie, however, was not at all satisfied by what she ate. She asked for a donut on the way back to the car. I indulged her. After all, we are on a mission to fatten her up. Not the most healthy choice but it should give her calories. I wish I could eat that without a care too!
