We have stopped painting on canvas for a while and I had serious doubts we would ever pick it up again. Sophie wasn't very receptive in instructional kind of learning and we always ended up fighting.
Today, we attempted painting a duck. I let her sketch with a pencil first, but it was harder than I thought because the canvas panel was rough. After some verbal 'encouragement' she finished the painting and outlined it with a crayon.
Alfee did dot painting with cotton buds while his sister worked on the duck. He's very expressive and he showed preference over certain colours and strokes in his work. I'm eager to see what else he would do in the near future.
