Tis Sunday and today Sophie's class started 30 minutes later. Thus, she had some time to spare, in her full swimming gear. She requested for Pocoyo but I don't have the DVD so she sat in front of out iMac and watched it onYouTube. Sometimes, I find Sophie very kiddish... she cannot watch any show with the slightly bit of excitement. She must watch very benign kind of programme, everyone is nice and calm, no conflict, no adventure... just daily routine and activities.
After their lunch and nap, we went to MBS again. This time, we imagined ourselves as tourists and visited the Cloud Forest at Gardens By The Bay. At first, I was reluctant to go because it was drizzling and I was skeptical about what we could actually see in there. But Papa was keen and the kids were bored, so I guess I really couldn't say 'no'.
Actually, it was quite enjoyable inside. The vegetation is definitely different from what we usually see at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The place was not crowded so that was a plus point. Also, we could go out and re-enter the exhibit again with out little stamp given at the exit.
And because the area is quite big and the exhibits are relatively spaced out, we could actually relax and enjoy the surrounding. I was even comfortable with letting the kids play around the compound without much stress. I found them quite cute because they got thrilled by the slightly bit of playing.
Just outside was Bakerzin so we had tea and snacks there. Good thing we discovered the miracle of snacks and the impact it has on our kids. Whenever they got cranky or tired with walking, we gave them snacks. Almost immediately, they calmed down and become cheerful again. Papa said maybe they really get hungry easily because of their high metabolic rate and relatively low intake of food per meal. They can't sustain until the next proper meal.
Sophie and Alfee went totally crazy when they saw some huge pebble-looking seat. They were running around them and climbing over them. At one point, I wondered if my kids were actually desperate or deprived of play.
