By Friday of each week, I feel deflated and can't wait for weekends to arrive. Even though there's really not much difference in terms of the parenting tasks I have to perform. I'm just glad the kids get to have more of their papa and they want his attention more than mine. Meanwhile, I just let Alfee do some sticker books and play a little with his coloured glasses.
Alfee started out with the normal usage of the glasses, diligently changing the lens every time he wanted to see through coloured lens. Soon, he grew restless and started to fit the lens on quickly. When he realised putting the lenses on took up too much of his precious time, he threw the frame aside and used the lens directly. Efficiency!
Sophie came home with the South American map and a '树' craft from her Chinese Enrichment. Although she wasn't half as enthusiastic as before, I still put up her map on the door. Maybe she would be better at Geography than me, hopefully! As for her '树', I have always found her Chinese Enrichment class great because it doesn't make the kids do worksheets. Instead, they carry out activities in Mandarin and encourage the daily usage of the language.
Once Sophie was done with her nap, we did some Autumn painting. We used pastels, paint and cotton buds. I like pastels because you can rub on it and it gives a nice blurry effect. But, it was apparently difficult for young kids to rub on their drawings (maybe only my kids). Anyway, I love way Alfee drew the red sun... that was the only thing he could name.
As for Sophie, she wanted to dab red on the path to show fallen leaves. I thought (seriously) that it looked like blood and nothing like leaves. I tried to stop her when she was dabbing too much paint, but she was unstoppable. Oh well, I suppose it's really up to her how she wanted it done.
