Evening With Sophie - Olympics Fun

making monkey faces...
Cab rides with Sophie are never dull. She spins the best tales when she's on the road. She does her verbal downloads then. So I try to converse with her and find out more about her day in school, her friends and her thoughts in general. Of course sometimes that's impossible, especially when she's out to redefine 'road rage'. She can be very challenging to manage when I'm tired.

Sophie got all excited when she saw the confetti bits and sparkly sequins before we left home for ballet. She kept asking what they were for, so I told her she could do art with them after her dinner. And that motivated her to finish it at record time! Most definitely, she deserved the medal she has made.

Before we went into the messy work, I got her to make the Olympics Rings, an idea from No Time For Flash Cards. We took the outer ring of those paper plates we used for the medals and joined them up. She found it boring to colour but she obliged anyway. I love to watch her when she's working. She looks so serious and focused.

I bought some ribbons while waiting for Sophie to finish her ballet class. Now Alfee's medal looks more decent. I helped Sophie attach the ribbons and she said she would give one of her medals to her friend in school. Her friend was moody and that would cheer her up. Sophie can be very endearing at times...

She must be very happy because she cooperated and posed for me!
