McDonald's Brekkie

Sophie teaching Alfee to make funny or scary faces...
Yeah... it's the weekends again! We don't really get to eat any meals, even breakfasts, as a family on weekdays because of our schedule. In the morning, we all rush to get everyone ready for the day and the kids are asleep by the time Papa returns. I like to have dinners around 6-7 pm, but due to Papa's schedule, I only eat around 8-9 pm. I don't enjoy eating alone so I try not to let Papa eat alone as well.

We don't usually eat fast food for breakfast, but Sophie's Yamaha lesson is at 10 am so I can't do much before that. Besides, we won't want to tire her too much or she can't concentrate in class.

Honestly, I am disappointed at McDonald's. I had to ask for the syrup, margarine and jam for our pancakes. I was not even asked if I had needed anything. It made me feel like I'm asking for a favour or something forbidden. I even had to negotiate with the queue just to speak to the staff. Also, the staff left me standing at the counter after I asked for an extra pair fork and knife for Sophie. Then she came back with, "What do you want?".

And as for free coffee refill, the pots were so badly designed that coffee and milk spilled over the counter as I tried to pour it in my cup. I ended up wiping the counter because I felt it was my carelessness. What happened to those transparent glass kind anyway? Is it a deliberate attempt to keep supply low (the staff cannot see the level left)? Customers have to take up the responsibility of informing them that it's time to refill? Honestly, the service industry in Singapore really needs a big revamp...

The Loys...
After our brekkie, we took a walk in the park. Funny that I used to go there so often as a youngster and yet I never bothered to find out its proper name. We climbed the 'Flight Of Terror' or what I like to call the horribly long flight of stairs up the slope. I wonder why kids are always so fascinated by stairs... Going back was a bit of a challenge since both kids were tired and bothered after the walk. We had to carry both back to the car. Oh well, at least there was no whining or any temper tantrum.
