Our mundane Sunday began with a good breakfast at Casa Verde Restaurant in Singapore Botanic Gardens. It's one of our favourite breakfast place. The food is good though a little pricey. We like the fact that we can walk around after a heavy brekkie. The greenery and fresh air are always good for the kids. They enjoy running in the fields because there is so much space!
However, I personally like this place because Sophie actually eats the food and I think she enjoys eating here. It is really hard to make her eat more and eat healthily. She also eats the McDonald's breakfast and roti prata from Banquet Signature at Thomson Plaza, but they are either very processed food or not very well balanced.
After our brekkie, we went for a short walk since Sophie had swimming lessons at 10.30 am. We really didn't want her to be tired even before her lesson. She can be super grouchy when she's hot, bothered and tired.
Alfee, on the other hand, is like a dynamite! He is fast, active and full of good humour. Even though he's tired, he doesn't kick a fuss unless he's very uncomfortable or hot. In fact, he kept himself awake and join his Papa in the pool when we got back.
When the kids were napping, we sneaked out to Ikea to look for a study table. Frankly, I thought we would be getting from Vhive. I always like their range of study desks and furniture. However, we do face the problem of mould and the designs often offer lizards hiding spots. Surprisingly, we ended up buying a simple, white study table. Hopefully, it would serve us well.
At Ikea, I couldn't resist buying toys for the kids... as usual. I mean, look at how crazy these kids are! They need lots of playtime and toys stretched their imagination (ok, I'm just finding excuses to spoil them rotten). My heart definitely grows fonder of these kids after a few hours of absence... I could see the relief on my helper's face when we walked through the door.
