Recently, the joint at my big left toe got swollen and red. I thought of two possibilities - bunion or gout. While there isn't any family history of gout, my dad's uric acid is marginally high and my mum suffers from bunion. And of course, I went for a test and found myself exactly in between. My uric acid is borderline high of 6.0 and my big left toe is showing signs of bunion. As if that's not bad enough, my GP said my joints in general look 'lax' so that can explain how my bunion deteriorates so dramatically over the last month. As I'm typing now, I can feel the throbbing at my joint. My GP advised that I should control my diet anyway to prevent a gout episode since my joint is under stress and injured already.
So I still don't really know if I have gout although it's confirmed that there's some sort of inflammation going on at my joints. For that matter, the joints of my left hand and fingers feel sore as well. I wonder if I am having some unfamiliar arthritis or something. At least my kidneys seem fine at the moment. My next move... an x-ray to see the physical damage at my joint. Meanwhile, how can I carry about my daily routine without my left foot?? And my staple diet of soy bean products, ikan bilis and red meat?? With diabetes also in my family genes, I must cut down on fats, carbohydrates (bread and cakes) and sugar as well. I feel miserable now.
I have too many things I still haven't done. I haven't performed my duty towards God or done art therapy to help others, my mum and kids need me and I want to travel!!! Suddenly, I feel that time is running out...
Not exactly sure what happens to u cause my ang moh not very good. But hope everything will be fine with you!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Just got a jab to reduce the inflammation. Tis not a gout after all, it's just a swollen toe joint!
