We got out of bed later than usual because we all slept late the night before. Miraculously, Sophie started sleeping on her own two nights ago and she seems to have accepted her 'fate'... finally. She still shows signs of distress like peeling her nails off and scrapping her tongue with her teeth, but she knows we mean business. While we tolerate her coming over to bunk in in the middle of the night, we don't want to be disturbed. And it has been 2 years since Ck and I last slept together...
The kids automatically head for the playroom the moment we got up. We had to physically grab and harass them into their morning routine. Then after breakfast, they hurried back into their favourite room again for lots of playtime.
Well, at least they did a bit of Playdough. I'm grateful that despite their passion for watching TV, they like getting their little hands busy with all sorts of activities. And Playdough is also a trusted activity for me. If it doesn't refine their fine motor skills, it provides them with lots of catharsis (especially Sophie) opportunities.
Sophie is really the sort of girl who needs fidget toys to keep her little hands busy and out of trouble. She likes to fiddle with little figurines and gadgets. Thus, she seems to enjoy playing with Alfee's alphabet robots a lot more than him. I think I may need to create a box of fidget toys for Sophie once the rest of our house is settled.
Alfee, on the other hand, is a happy chap who just wants to play. Here he was trying to be a robot, inspired by the toys his big sister was playing. Although he didn't take on those toys, he wanted to be involved as a real robot. That's a pretty costly 'helmet' from Muji so I had to terminate his game prematurely.
Alfee is so cute with the tub on his head.
ReplyDeleteYalor... so silly, he's quite a joker!
