Dental Appointment
I took both the kids to GPA at United Square for a dental check up. As usual, I take all opportunities to check with medical experts about Sophie's peculiar habits and problems. And one of those many issues - she scrapes her tongue with her teeth. She suggested Geographic Tongue, a chronic inflammatory condition of the tongue. I was shocked to learn that her condition might not have been her own doing or fault after all. Also, she has genetically very deep and extensive grooves on her molars. That would make her require better oral hygiene care and the dentist suggested we patch it it up as a preventive measure. I decided to patch the molar at risk for a start. She added that Sophie may need braces when she's older because there's very little space between her teeth. I'm so crossing my fingers and praying that day would never come. Alfee's teeth are in better shape. No problem with grooves or spacing. He even enjoyed the polishing. For a first timer, I must say he's really good in the chair (with me). In fact, the dentist was saying that kids with SAHMs are in general calmer (maybe in her chair). All in all, the damage to our pocket - $400 ++

wow ex!but your children are so cooperative! I tried bringing dash to dentist before, and he was so fearful!
ReplyDeleteYa... I thin GPA is a little on the expensive side but they are very child friendly and I really dun want my kids to fear dentists like me. Sophie's very good, she never cried with injections when she was young and now she has not much issue with dental works. We even irrigated her ears to flush out ear wax before and she fell asleep in the process.
