Alfee's Morning

Auntie Rose has gone to the Embassy to get her passport renewed. It is a tedious process that requires at least 3 separate trips. Thus, Alfee and I were alone for the morning. To take full advantage of her absence, I tried out some seat work with him. I find it much more motivating, though not any easier, to work with him when there's nobody else around.

We did two exercises of Chinese sticker books and read a Chinese book. Alfee was not very receptive to the language, much like Sophie in the beginning, but at least he responded when I asked him to repeat after me.

Just Dots by Alfee

After a toilet break, we continue with painting. I tried something simple because I was a little conscious of the potential mess he might create. The furniture is still very new so I don't really want to face the music from Papa. Alfee was very familiar with the dot paint and he could unscrew the caps easily. He also understands that he has to screw the caps back on although he still cannot do that physically. Very interesting how fast he matures... and I didn't do anything at all.

Race Track by Alfee

Initially, I tried to get Alfee to draw big circles and he got all excited, shouting words like 'moon' and 'car'. Then he drew bigger circles and started running his hot wheels around it like a track. I was very pleased that he's just as creative as Sophie. In fact, he's much less inhibited than her. I think they can influence and help each other develop in a more balanced way...
